Opâle Vermentino di Sardegna

S sweet, flowery, bitter hazelnut. Italian herbs. Nice nice.

Very syrupy with Sauternes-like features. Almost desserty

The app is tricking me today with pictures. I had and scored the 2016.
I also drank some bottles of the (cheaper) Giunco. I like that better if I am honest. That offered some freshness and sea salt tones that I like so much in Vermentino (especially when it it 35plus degrees outside 😉)

2016 vintage on 24.11.18
The bigger brother from Giunco. Alcohol, wood and some unripe fruit nose. In the mouth bitter and sweet dominated and a burning alcohol kick. Have to be honest the wood is too dominant here. Perhaps this benefits from a few more years on the bottle. For now the Giunco wins...... in all honesty the final two glasses we drank the next day were way better. Rounder, smooth! So 8,5 and 9 makes 8,8

Enjoyed its clean taste and mineral taste, had it with an unusual prosciutto instead of fish

2011 Vintage. Very buttery notes as well as notes of grapefruit and elder
