Jun 27th, 2023Haven’t had in almost a year. Gorgeousness. This is so elegant, nimble and pure. Awesome nose of roses, rose petal, tar and tobacco. Also superb minerality. Just so wispy. Palate is stunningly beautiful. Elegant, wispy and pure with string red fruit/cherry character. Sneaky length and just so so well made. Super balance and gorgeous. Tight as a drum last year. Wide open now. Nose needs a bit more of air. On the 9.3/9.4 cusp only because nose is a bit shy. I’ll be back.

Mar 12th, 2021This is a super brilliant wine but demands 2-3 years of age. It’s so focused and tight now. Nose is somewhat reticent now even after 30 minutes. Gorgeous mineral, sour cherries, mid season cherries, gorgeous fresh leaves just fallen from the tree in early autumn. As it gets going it gets a super perfume, with moss, other forest scents as well. A superb nose that gives off a super sense of place. Remarkable in its detail and vividness. Palate has insane fruit saturation and concentration but also remarkable detail but it is going a f. Big, but ripe tannins and such density . Talk about palate staining. Insane acidity, freshness but man what length. It just clings onto your palate with such unreal intensity and never lets go. I’ll be back in a few hours as this will improve. 9.4 for now. After 2 hours this crosses the crucial 9.4/9.5 barrier as the fruit is just unconscious but framed but absolutely sick minerality and tannins have velvetized. Awesome.

Really very nice. Nice find on the list at union sq cafe. Great fruit in a nice alto piemonte restrained way balanced with wonderful acidity and freshness. Slightly fleshier than some alto Piemonte’s I’ve had, though not in a bad way at all. Delicious.

Engaging wine: very shy but slowly opened to reveal gorgeous cherry & rhubarb, alongside rose hips, soil, minerals, stones & white pepper. a bit light bodied for Nebbiolo, but great extraction - not over done, a liqueur element, hi quality winemaking. lively acidity as well. focused & precise on palate with great fruit & terroir but not overly ripe - harmony with mildly chewy tannins. Decent length on finish. Interesting & impressive. There is not a ton of fruit here, but it has great balance - probably only near term cellaring potential tho / thanks @Lyle Fass
