Canoe Ridge Vineyard
The Expedition Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon
Really like this pour. Assertive but not bold. Lasting finish.

Sep 28th, 2019This was gifted me, as I’m a displaced Oregonian. My first glass was fruity & tart. I gave it a day or two and had another glass. With time to air out, it provided a plummy earthy fragrance. The first sips had a dry fruity taste of dark cherries, plums, and sweet grapes. Smooth tannins & fresh northwestern soils. I usually like a touch of pepper or a strong spicy kick of excitement from my cabs (without the tartness), but this was pleasant & refreshing.

Jun 24th, 2019Love this wine! Great for drinking all on its own, this doesn’t need to be paired with food to be easy to drink. Plum and black cherry stone fruits are forward. Not much pepper in this cab, but I’m ok with that...

May 13th, 2019Color of dark ruby, with a bit purple hue on the rim, a bit cloudy. Nose of cherry jam, oak, roasted red pepper, peppery, hot pepper, and a bit oak. Taste of some hot pepper powder, low tannins, quite spicy, wood chip, some grapes, subtle sweetness, and a bit tobacco leaves. Aftertaste of some more hotness, sweetness, and ripe grapes note. Spicy wine.

Apr 14th, 2019Not my type of wine anymore, but it’s a well made wine, a very good representation of new world California Cab.
