This wine is actually California Chardonnay, made from grapes sourced in Monterey and Mendocino counties as well as Sonoma. The nose shows apricot and lemon pie, with a healthy dollop of oak spice. The oak comes through on the palate as well, in the form of some of the nicest “butter” I have tasted in a Chardonnay. Meyer lemon, pear and cantaloupe flavors also turn up. The acidity is quite nice and fresh, and the mouthfeel is full and rich.

I really liked this a lot upon opening - complex, smooth creamy finish, not too alcohol forward, some fruit but not sour fruit. I thought it would be even better the second day, but actually it's not quite as good the second day. That said, I really like it and I believe it was a good price. Would buy again (bought at central market).

A nice, well balanced Chard - fun label portends the flavor as some classic citrus, vanilla and oak flavor marriage come down the aisle of your palette. Well priced and a good, structured glass from start to finish...cheers!

Went nicely with lemon sage chicken + garlic roasted baby potatoes. Was on sale for $9.99 at Harris Teeter.
