Campo Viejo
Reserva Rioja Tempranillo

Deep Ruby with lively aromas of red fruits and spicy tobacco. On the palate flavors of plums and cherry with cacao and tobacco notes. Soft fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and sweet spice. Drink now no aging benefit.

Feb 20th, 2023One of our regulars. Reasonably priced, excellent with a smooth finish.

A great match with my lasagne meal. Strong but not too much- it definitely works with meat and tomato-based sauces

NOSE: cherry, cola, faint allspice and clove, a little vanilla. Smells a bit light and thin, but with traditional Rioja character.
TASTE: pretty good. Medium weight, baking spices, a little (mildly) bitter chocolate -nicely balanced for an inexpensive wine. Depending on how much I paid (can’t remember), may buy again. 89.
