Again, lip smacking cassis and brambly fruit, all integrated into an classically flavored and varietal correct CS. Gorgeous savory and herbal character, leather, tobacco, cedar and minerals. Pliant on all front, pure silk with a rustic kiss, I rarely find CS this drinkable 😄

Jul 4th, 2021First of the 14s. This wine has a dark black and blue fruit nose, savory characteristics, mocha, roasted nuts. Entry has a hint of red fruit right at the front but turns to dark black and blue character to the mid palate. Hint of mocha. Graphite. Sweet, youthful, gritty and roasted tannin. Balanced. Powerful. Soft edges on the front and a little more jagged on the back. Beautiful....price went up a bit....to 55 bucks. A steal.

Feb 14th, 2019Curious, so I decided to open up one of these while waiting for someone to help me consume the other half.... This wine is youthful, and for that reason is a bit out of balance from the previous wine I remembered and scored quite a bit higher than this one. This wine is a 93 right now, with potential for a 96-97 IMO. The fruit in front is massive. Black cherry, black licorice, but as @Shay A was mentioning there is a red fruity kind of touch to this one and I completely agree. The middle is a little bit muted vs. the previous vintage. The finish is quite peppery, toasted oak. Tons of potential on this full bodied Moon Mountain monster. Hold for the next 10 years.
