Dark cherry color. Earthy- leather, tar, tobacco and dark cherry dominate the nose. The palate has a great fruit core of currants and cherries. Beautiful balance. Uber young with those heavy tannins. Needs 15 years more.

Drinking beautifully. Young, but soft and open. Love the light, no-nonsense bottles Josh Jensen uses too. It's all about what's in the bottle.

Do not pop and pour! Give this a decant. This has improved so much with age. Intense ripe cherries and smoke with a hint of vanilla and some earthy tones on the nose. Soft fruits and sweetness on the palette with dusty soft tannins and uplifting acidity. This is a very nice subtle and gentle wine.

Big, tannic Pinot. Tastes like a 1 year old instead of 7. Big blue fruits with a ton of backbone.

What a difference a few years of bottle age makes. This has given up some vibrancy and brightness in return for complexity and earth. Tastes almost Burgundian at this point, but it is really unique. I've just renewed my love for Calera.

Some time in the bottle is rewarded with a a depth in flavors I don't get in many other Pinots.
