2010 vintage. Thirty-fifth anniversary vintage. From 6 different vineyards in different counties (San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Santa Clara and San Benito). Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (10% new) for 11 months. Very attractive nose, unmistakeably Pinot Noir with ripe griotte cherries and a subtle flowery hint. Obviously very ripe fruit, but with great acidity and elegance. The high alcohol (14,9% abv.) is perfectly integrated and the finish is long and smooth. Delicious and terrific value.

Oct 28th, 2018We joined the Calera wine club 4 years ago after tasting this and other wines from the 35th Anniversary vintage. Wow, today it's bold, fruit forward-dark fruits- and a mouth coating wine which is unusual for a Pinot Noir. This is their pay-the-bills wine while the Mount Harlan wines age a little before release. Spectacular Wine! Glad that we have 3 more aging in the cellar.

Feb 26th, 2017The pinot reveals itself late. It starts like an austere, somewhat smokey California Cab (if such a wine exists) than slowly blooms. Very underrated.
