Impossible to comment fairly two days ago given the boisterous overripe character, yet now the wine is so dead and advanced, I wonder when the grapes were picked. I fear this is not "quintessential" Carignane as some would like to imagine. Drink this wine within the first hour of opening for a deep dip into one dimensional fruity territory. Would rather drink the profoundly brett-y Sandlands Carignane.

Medium ruby red, I'm not fond of the nose, a little volatile and a little funk, bright red cherries, cranberries and bay leaf. Chewy tart tannins, lacks polish or age or both. Still, cool to find #carignan from #mendocinowine
