Caillez-Lemaire
Extra Dry Rosé Champagne Blend
Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Solid producer, no new notes:
Nose has wet strawberry, orange peel, ripe stone fruits, pineapple core and light, fresh brioche notes.
Palate has strawberry-raspberry mash (light), orange/grapefruit pith, ripe peach (light) and wonderful limestone backbone.

Celebrating giving myself my first haircut. With beardtrimmers. Anyway. This is delicious. Nose of yeast, red fruits, Rainer cherry, saline and some hint of caramel. Awesome. Palate is so elegant and lithe with lovely cherry fruit and some citrus as well. Brilliant mousse and so juicy yet elegant and caressing. Finished with rainer cherry skin and loads of minerals. Very pretty. Nice persistence.

May 15th, 2020Friday night bubbles! Prior notes apply, this bottle seems to showcase the red fruits and limestone more than others, yum!

Apr 17th, 2020A little bit of a pre-aperitif wine in the hotel prior to what I believe will be another fine Tastevin dinner in the Saratoga Springs area tonight.
Prior notes apply; Nose has wet strawberry, orange peel, ripe stone fruits, pineapple core and light, fresh brioche notes.
Palate has strawberry-raspberry mash (light), orange/grapefruit pith, ripe peach (light) and wonderful limestone backbone.
(Update: More saline on the finish than prior bottles, I'm quite pleased with that trait!)

Terrific mineral driven and terroir driven rose. Nose has delicate citrus rind, mineral, mid season cherries. So beautiful. Palate is terrific and very long. Orange citrus, so juicy and refined. Amazingly pure wine. Elegant. So long.

Dry rosé, not imported to the US. Very fun.
Photos of their cellar holding close to 60,000 bottles, intimate. The barrels next to the moldy walls hold their Ratafia de Champagne, amazing stuff...One bottle will be coming back stateside with us.
