Caiarossa Bianco 2023. Toscana IGT, Tuscany, Italy 🇮🇹

Overview
An elegant Tuscan white crafted from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Viognier, grown on Caiarossa’s limestone-rich soils. Fermented separately, Chardonnay in French oak barriques and Viognier in cement vats, before blending, the wine beautifully balances richness, freshness, and minerality.

Aromas & Flavors
Complex layers of ripe citrus, white peach, apricot, white flowers, toasted almonds, and wet stone unfold with every swirl. The palate is deep and mineral-driven, revealing remarkable precision and impressive aromatic complexity.

Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with beautiful tension and weight. Richly textured without feeling heavy or oily, supported by vibrant acidity and a long, chalky mineral finish. Bright, focused, and exceptionally food-friendly.

Food Pairings
Outstanding with lobster, scallops, grilled fish, creamy risotto, roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, or aged alpine cheeses.

Verdict
A cerebral white that rewards patience and attention. This is not a casual patio sipper—it is layered, thought-provoking, and built around texture, minerality, and finesse. A superb example of how Tuscany can produce world-class white wines alongside its celebrated reds.

Did You Know?
While Caiarossa is internationally recognized for its Bordeaux-inspired Super Tuscan reds, it produces this white in very limited quantities. The estate ferments Chardonnay in French oak and Viognier in cement separately before blending, preserving both structure and aromatic purity.

🍷 Personal Pick
One of the most intellectually engaging white wines I’ve tasted from Tuscany. This is a bottle that asks you to slow down, pay attention, and discover new layers with every sip. A memorable food wine that deserves a place at the table whenever the cuisine is as serious as the wine itself.
