Columbia Valley Syrah

Pure, focused, and very lively still with primary blue fruits dominating with leather and tobacco underneath.

Yum. Everything a Syrah should bring with a spicy sweet oak finish.

Fancy label. Dark and imposing in the glass. Smells full. Bodied and of itself. (By which I mean oak-ful). Some dark fruits with a hint of blood orange in there too. Flavors reinforce the full theme. Plenty of thick, tongue coating tannin. Some woodsmoke perhaps. Hint savory. Syrah flavors of licorice, berry syrup and cigar boxes are in there. It’s just a bit buried in the oak and glycerin. This is a big and blustery Syrah with some nice stuff going on, it’s just a bit much. I could go for a bit more subtlety.

Light aroma, light acidity and fruitiness overall

Peppery on the nose then flavors of plums, blackberries and licorice, and a touch of earthiness. Great long finish.

Fabulous--although I wish I was enjoying it in the Glass House...

Very good when paired with pizza, pasta, or other tomato based sauces. A little too earthy for a Syrah in my opinion. But very delicious none the less.

Dark cherry and a long finish

Lovely bouquet and awesome taste. Nice lingering end notes. Will definitely look for more.
