special bottle — brought this one home from New Zealand, picked it up at the beautiful Cable Bay winery on Waiheke Island.
cracked this open because i suspect it’s not meant to age too long and it wasn’t stored properly the past 2.5 years so didn’t want it to spoil
sure enough, there were hints of oxidation here. thankfully still drinkable but lots of bricking and some notes of balasamic and stewed fruits are starting to seep into the wine. still can detect plenty of sour cherry as well. glad we opened when we did!
