Surprisingly well composed for the money. A very smooth table wine.

2014 vintage. Very spicy smell (clove, nutmeg) and underlying jammy blueberry fruit. Corresponding taste, more spicy than fruity with a certain rustic charm and good acidity.. Nice everyday wine, try with grilled meat. Abv. 13,5%.

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of plums, cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, smoke, leather, chocolates, mocha, dark coffee and spices.

Full bodied and soft, with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with plums, sweet strawberries, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, tobacco, wood, licorice, leather, beef jerky, vanilla, light vegetables and coffee.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins, bitter vegetables and raspberries.

This is a good everyday red wine from California. Simple, balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle, and not one for long term aging, with a soft mouthfeel and not offensive. Good for parties too.
Entry level red for this winery.

I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Blueberries, blackberries and raspberries in nose and taste. Food friendly wine. Could use some decanting to soften tannins.
