Brecciaro Ciliegiolo di Narni

Incense, potpourri, rosemary- but subtle and floral. It smells the apartment of a stoner girl. Italian high-toned mineral. Green Strawberry. Clean light tannins.

Welcome Ciliegiolo from Umbria- a unicorn varietal. Dark crimson color, crushed red fruits & cassis on nose; on palate medium plus acidity, medium body, a gorgeous texture- fine grained tannins, so some grip. Blackberries & black currant fruit. Really, really good.

Quite subdued on the nose: juicy red cherries, sour cream, sour cherries, tomato skin, and Brett. Good acidity with low tannins.

Light, dry, cola, prune, tart cherry, a bit of thyme and dried roses.

Ruby red, fruity, red currant, blackcherry, flowers, good velvety tannins, long finish. Good choice @CiliegioloNarni

Surprisingly subtle and elegant. An excellent medium-weight red.

My kind of wine. Well balanced, food friendly, 13.5% al. Medium tannins, tart plums or cherry. $20. Definitely buy again.

Quite a nice wine and a great suggestion by the somm at union sq cafe. Crazy value, have not had this grape before. Definitely presents as “Italian” - some earth, some red fruit, good acid. Slightly “rustic”, perhaps, but a nice pairing with both chicken and fish. Enjoyed this one.
