Basina Plavac Mali

Enjoyed with Bird pizza. Pepperoni and mushroom. Included among the Oct. ’25 Substrate wine club. Unique finish. Big cherry.

Interesting Croatian wine. For $25 a nice value. Somewhere between Nebbiolo and Zinfandel on the palate, though the color and body are lighter than zin for sure. Not huge acid and the tannins are a bit drying/rustic - but a nice one to try outside of the norm.

Very tannic, deep red with a bit of Merlot nose but more complex finish. Blackberries and leather. Really interesting alternative to a cab sav or rioja.
