Last had the 14 and this was just as nice - very dark purple, inky w/impressive aromas of red & dark fruit, some vanilla & cassis, perfumed - bit floral. Mid palate is gorgeous, more red & black fruits, tastes polished w/decent length on finish. I would guess Zin but I guess there are a bunch of Italian varietals in this blend.

This was a pleasant surprise - never heard of this No Cal estate, but they’re doing an Italian varietal field blend. This had some bottle age, but still showed an inky color w/no visible bricking. Huge nose right out of the bottle with all manner of red fruit, vanilla & sweet oak, some herbs, licorice and soil. Fleshy & smooth on palate w/flavors matching nose, had a great balance of tannins alongside some juicy acidity. Had this w/homemade bolognese. Med bodied, med acidity and just tasty!

Very different. California Blend of Italian varietals: (Primativo, Barberra, Sangiovese and Dolcetto.). Brambly and herbal with bright red berries on the nose. Raspberry jam, vanilla and baking spices on the pallet. So fruity, it seems sweet. Long smooth finish and light on the oak. More like a base for a red sangria than a sipping wine.

Well balanced, deep flavor but an easy drinker.

2010. Red fruit, anise seed, earth. Nice acidity and great value. Pizza wine at its finest.

I really enjoyed how different this wine was. Raspberry jam, and mushroom with a subtle spice and juicy finish.
