Give it plenty of time in the glass or ideally in a decanter. It is a beautiful wine that needs time to open. Great effort in an off year.

Not so great year but a super wine. Let it open in the glas and you will be rewarded by a very elegant Barolo. Flowery, leathery goodness. Drinks beautifully now, I would not wait on this one.

From the moment it is poured, the 1978 is fabulous. The color alone is so vibrant. Such a classic mix of tar, dried cherry, herbs and licorice. Not the 1971, but so delicious and deeply satisfying...😊😍🀩πŸ’₯😱

This is the Rocche di Castiglione. Should I make it to the pearly gates, this is what I would like to drink.

Not sure WHAT I was thinking opening this far too young, but special friends deserve treats. Opened up after an hour decant expressing bright refined rose and crunchy cranberry with fine spice. Dang last bottle.
