Started off pale ruby in appearance, but became darker with air. Similarly the nose was initially closed, but slowly revealed complex aromas of red fruits, floral and earthy notes. On the palate, there were delicious notes of red berries, spice, liquorice and a herbaceous bitter finish, supported by soft tannins and acidity giving it an interesting balance. Finish a little short but never abrupt. Couldn't put my glass down as drinking this felt like I was playing mastermind with the bottle. Constantly teasing and giving clues with every whiff and sip, yet not revealing its full repertoire. After 3 hours,
tiramisu (who can resist) killed the palate and I lost the guessing game. Will be interested to try this again in a couple of years as this definitely needs more time in the bottle to be ready.
