Apple, honey, lemon curd, dried apricot, oak and hints of toasted almond. Good acidity and balance.

A little too sweet, buttery, and caramel oaky for my taste but still drinkable. Perhaps if served with fish prepared with the same wine it would be better, but a failure as a cocktail wine.

#wawinemonth In honor of Washington Wine Month we decided to crack open one red and one white wine. For the white wine we decided to go with this chardonnay from Browne Family Vineyards in Columbia Valley. Wine was crystal clear and pale yellow. Nose had some definite oak influence, we noted later that it is aged for 12 months in 68% new French oak. Nose started off with vanilla and some baking spices with undertones of white and tropical fruits, especially crisp green apple and guava. The tropical fruits were definitely more prominent on day two and three. This is a white wine with tannins, not just acidity. Moderate tannins (5/10) with moderate acidity. Very creamy with some wet rocks and minerality in the finish. Minerality increased on the next day. Finish was long and lingering. This wine needs another year or two to fully integrate and mellow out to become super smooth. It is definitely drinkable right now if you like fuller bodied Chardonnays. Drink till 2019.

I’m not a Chardonnay fan, but this was a nice clean taste, not too buttery

Buttery and sweet. Paired well with scallops and farro. But yes a bit on the sweeter side so more of a nice finisher and not accompaniment to a buttered fish

Loving this Washington wine! Not overly buttery and oaky like many California chards. The viognier adds a little something to this wine. Easily drinkable and pleasing if you like more mineral forward Chardonnay.

Your basic medium plus body, Oak laced chard. Pretty sweet imo, ripe pear notes slight lemon in there too. More acid or complexity on the finish might help it out.
