Medium ruby red. Candied cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, and leather on the nose with hints of mint. Medium bodied featuring juicy and sweet red fruit on the palate with fine grained tannins and a long finish. Sourced from Brooks’ biodynamically farmed estate vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills with vines planted in the 1970’s, the ripe 2015 vintage is drinking well now. 14% ABV. $60.

Masculine, animal character, almost Gevrey-like nose. Bitter cherry skin and juniper berry. Slightly chewy on the back end- more like red licorice.

Slow to open, but four days later this is really showing it's stuff. Plum skin, roasted cherries, and menthol. I dig it.

An extremely cool savory-fruity aroma and palate, by far the most intriguing wine of about 20 that I tasted through at the winery yesterday.

From 100% estate-grown fruit,
Brooks Rastaban Pinot Noir 2011 is a wine of fantastic contrasts and angles. The nose comes across as dark and brooding, laden with black cherries and blackberries, minerals and dried rose petals. On the palate, however, it presents a lighter body than expected with bright acidity, firm tannins and tart red fruits: pomegranate, rhubarb, and rose hips. As with the Janus Pinot, the finish is pleasantly tinged with exotic spices notes. 12.3% ABV | Sample
