Very broad-structured vintage with juicy black fruit and savory spice- intense and pure expression of volcanic soil. Cassis, creme de menth, violets, blackberry, black cherry, licorice, bergamot, clove, vanilla. Firm grip on the mid palate and finishing with both sappy grenadine-like texture and dry tannins. More red fruit character emerged with air. Definitely characterized more by power and depth than finesse and elegance, but at just over 13% ABV it is indeed an excellent food wine. It’s quite masculine in personality, naturally endowed with muscle and girth but not at all heavy. Go with roasted lamb or venison stew.

I just don't get this one. Warring factions of artificial red fruit, brett and oak tannins?

Limestone and flint, some fresh turned earth. It opens with tannins, black peppercorns, purple plum skin, and ends with light red fruit, possibly pomegranate.
