The second bottle from NZ trip. Singing. Big nose. Sandalwood with spice and dark fruit on the nose. Sweet, fruit forward, and very typical Gibbston flavour profile. Still lots of fine tannin left but fruit has fully evolved. Hot vintage? . Excellent. ,

Dark fruit, cherry, and savoury spice on the nose. Excellent weight. Quite fruit forward and ripe compared to the 2014, but incredibly structured. Everything is in place here. Outstanding.

Big, ripe black cherry, almost liqueured. Damp earth. This is undeniably a very well made wine, but a bit too modern/glossy for my tastes stylistically

This is the 2009. Red fruit, cola, spice, balanced-leaning-towards-bright acidity. Something smoky leads to a long and pleasant finish. Very pretty nose. This is a rare case where the wine actually seems better at home than it did at the winery. Loving this.

Notes of black cherry, cola, a bit of smokiness and coffee. The flavors go on and on...wish I'd brought more back from NZ!
