This is the 2007 Brancaia Tre. Cannot understand how this wine was #10 in Wine Spectators Top 100 of 2009. Hints of coffee beans and tar. A very food friendly wine and unmistakeably Italian. A "sweaty" wine. 80% Sangiovese. Teddy and George had the 2011. A good quality quaffer. 17.5-

2013. Very pure, fresh and crunchy. Classic sangiovese red cherries and macchia mediterranea. A bit biscuity - coming from merlot, supposedly. Light-to-medium body, focused and balanced. Unfussy but utterly moreish.
