More than one “wow” in Calistoga tonight... open house with Four Seasons Napa Valley followed by a stunning meal at All Seasons with the 1985 BR Cohn Olive Hill made by Helen Turley.

33 years and it’s probably at its peak. Extraordinarily powerful aromatics of dried currant, truffle, forest floor... but everything translates through to the palate in a super mellow and smooth AF style. Distinctively Northern California while still evoking aged left bank Bordeaux. Stunning.

Sipping Fine Wine

Founded by Bruce Cohn in 1984, Winery is located in the heart of Sonoma, surrounded by a 100-acre Olive Hill Vineyard where the soil is warmed by underground natural hot springs. A big Cab, aromas of ripe black fruits with intoxicating earthy tones. On the palate blackberry and ripe blueberry flavors with tobacco and bits of cacao surrounded by big firm tannins, lingering finish ending with rich fruit, oak and earthy character.

Amazing! Fruity nose to start, smooth across the palate and clean finish. So easy, so smooth to drink. Great Special Selection from 2010 by B.R. Cohn; only made when the weather is at it's best. Nice!

Still plenty of fruit to go with the deep tertiary notes. Tannins fully resolved. Light, elegant and extremely enjoyable with prime rib. 12.4% alc.
