B.R. Cohn
Gold Label Cabernet Sauvignon
Opening a bottle I noticed a deep Ruby color with concentrated aromas of dark fruit, slightly sweet smell, with cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and ripe plum, with oak and hints of pepper spice. This Cabernet is a unique blend where 67% of the grapes came from Napa and 33% from Sonoma, and aged in French Oak (50% new). Soft tannins, lingering finish ending with cedar spice notes. Drink now for real enjoyment.

Sep 12th, 2017Soft aroma of light raspberries. Mellow taste of raspberries on the side of the tongue. We aerated this so it was soft.

1 person found it helpfulSep 7th, 2014New Gold Label Cab, Napa/Sonoma blend of 100% Cabernet. Solid wine. Decant as it's young and needs to open up. Nice flavors which speak to the Napa Mountain fruit and the Sonoma Valley fruit. A really nice departure for BR Cohn as they take the brand in a new direction.

Dark ruby in color with a ruby rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, black cherries, vanilla, cedar, toast, earth, vegetables, vinegar, chocolates, dark coffee, currants, licorice and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs, smooth and elegant.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, green pepper, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This wonderful Cabernet from California is from Napa Valley (46%) and Sonoma County (54%).
Elegant and easy drinking, well balanced and complex. Very aprochable at this young age, with a great mouthfeel.
Enjoyable by itself or with food, like grilled BBQ Meats.
Needs at least 2 years in the bottle to mature, but would be a good candidate for long term aging.
Good right out of the bottle, but really benefits from an hour of airtime.
Aged in French oak barrels, 50% new.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
