InSpire Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a great 11 year old Napa Cabernet. Nicely aged, and showing its age now with black fruits, earth, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, light vanilla, peppercorn and espresso.

Full bodied and smooth, with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

Wine Enthusiasts 90 points.

Very enjoyable now, but I would have probably liked it more, a few years ago.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly.

Tried three years ago - just too young - 100% cab, ripe black and red fruits - also smell cedar and vanilla. Tastebuds fill with flavors of blackberry, blueberry and dark chocolate - tannins are integrated and complimented by a long and surprising balanced palette - really big 😀😀😀😀😀😄

We were advised to decant and we were glad we did. The 2009 is a big cab! Flavors are coming into focus after 1 hour: at first I detected spicy, peppery, woody notes and now we taste currant and smell vanilla. It is definitely mellowing out, yummy. It's getting hard to save for our lamb dinner. I'd put this in my cellar again.

Everything to love about Napa Cabernet. Rich dark fruit, vanilla, tannic backbone, savory tobacco and leather. Nice balance and drinking perfectly.

Superb wine. Exemplifies California cabs. Initially the wine was very tight. After decanting for four hours the tannins and fruit began to sing. The initial berry flavors give way to waves of cassis and seductive tannins on the finish. A lingering balanced finished coupled with medium body make this an approachable wine for those not used to cali cab boldness. Great for a hearty meal or as a partner for day drinking.

Great CA Cab! Full bodied, of course, but really smooth and not harsh at all!
