Bouchard Père et Fils
Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay
Nose has under-ripe white peach, candied pineapple, baked pear, wet seashells, recently oxidized pear peel and crushed granite.
Palate has lemon peel, sugar sprinkled on lemon slice, light stoney salinity and light oak influence. Seems a little clunky in its youth, a tad bitter on the finish seeming to shake off a little with more air; decanted +3h.

2011 vintage. Slightly past it’s peak, really nice still, but just not great. Yellow apple, almond, lemon, verbena. Has nice acidity but not as nuanced as many white Burgundies are

Aug 22nd, 2020Not the highlight I expected. But still lots of butter, citrus, pepper, and mature flavours. enough on acids. Rather short in taste.

Dec 25th, 2018Wow! Incredibly rich and deep nose with layers of wet limestone and spicy white fruits. Bold and linear on the palate with tremendous acidity and a long stony finish.

Mar 18th, 2015Fairly dark golden color w/toasty oak & brioche on nose, also some flint & stone alongside pineapple, lemon oil & orange rind. Fat silky & viscous across mid palate, a bit sluggish w/wood slightly overtaking fruit on palate. Still impressive but I’m a few years late in this. I’m a Folatieres guy - can’t recall where I picked up this bottle.
