Bonneau du Martray
Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Brilliant wine - fragrance is so enticing with an initial right amount of funk that blows off over a hour to two - Light to medium body - excellent mouthfeel - still needs time but extraordinary red ripe fruit - very Pommard - polished but not the harshness or austerity that many young red burgs I have had of late - needs 2 hours plus decanting for this is a youngster and will improve over 5 years - could be 9.7 then

Jan 27th, 2020The 3rd and final Corton Rouge tasted blind. Wonderful fragrance and palate intensity - obvious whole bunch in the ferment. A bit too much for some tasters in the group. 2016 is a great year for Corton Rouge and in relative terms quite good value. It does not have the head spinning prices one sees in Vosne Romanee, Musigny or Chambertin.

Jan 23rd, 2020First of a group of 3 Red Burgundies from Aloxe-Corton. All had excellent colour of bright mid crimson. Bearing in mind we knew the identity of the 3 Wines but not the serving order. A jubey fruity nose showing Liqueur Cherries and some stalky stemmy notes. Had persistence and length with good acid. James Halliday noted Burgundian Tannins.

Jan 13th, 2018Cherry notes. Light to medium bodied. Not enough power for a Grand Cru IMO but the chaps from Prince reckon this will put on weight in the coming years. Not as much extract as the next two in this bracket of 3.
