Boniperti Vignaioli
Favolalunga Vespolina
The 2016 Favolalunga is very pretty. Sweet red cherry, mint, pine, crushed flowers and licorice are all very nicely lifted in this gracious mid-weight Vespolina from Boniperti. The 2016 is subtle, nuanced and very expressive. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2020)

100% Vespolina. Stainless steel fermented. Pomegranate, sour cherry, cherry juice, mushroom, cigar, ash, tobacco, tea leaves. Alto Piemonte’s answer to Barbera. Elevated acidity, medium low fine tannins, medium alcohol. Medium finish and intensity.

Nov 5th, 2018Solid little high-acid food wine. Lots of mint and licorice going on here with crunchy, slightly tart red fruit character. Clean, bright and focused. Low alcohol, pretty and lifted. Great value from Oliver McCrum, whose selections never disappoint.

Mar 2nd, 2018Perfect 800 Degree pizza wine. Now, where did I out my Riedel Vespolina glasses? Wonderful tight pants, high acid wine from Piedmont. Earthy green like Cabernet Franc but finishes like Nebbiolo. More fun than profound...
