I was a Vega virgin and this was a memorable night. More Burgundian than I expected, a rich Côte de Nuits vibe. Youthful, barely ready, but silky smooth black fruit, white flower perfume. Line of limestone minerality. Long as all get out.

Wonderfully lush. A whiff of menthol, some syrupy sweet red fruit. Oak still prominent, but overall this is a beautifully complete and lucid wine. Needs tiiiime. Very good potential.

A classy and refined vintage for Unico, the nose was dark and mineral inflected with black cherry, exotic savory spices, hints of pepper, dried flowers, animal musk and stone dust. On the palate it was amazingly fresh with crushed raspberry, strawberry fruit followed by a wave of acidity that deposited notes of dried orange, cherry and inner floral tones. The finish as long with fine tannin drying the fruit, yet floral and spice tones prevailed. Stunning!

Shy at first but becomes rapidly approachable with air (30 mins). Voluptuous, silky, jammy and just a bit decadent. Very complimentary of hearty pasta and grilled veal.
