Conde Valdemar Reserva Rioja Tempranillo

8 years into this nice Rioja, which is giving me aromas and flavors of leather, gravel, tobacco, and vanilla. Perhaps a bit of fig, too, but it seems that the secondary and tertiary elements are starting to come to the forefront. The tannins are smooth as silk yet still some grip, and the acidity has mellowed to medium. I imagine this wine is at it’s premium for drinking now. Super company with our “asado” on a chilly December evening!

A bottle of red at the Devonshire

Deep ruby red with violet. Raspberry < blueberry dried plum. Tabacco leather vanilla clove nutmeg. Liquor like Aged, but still with violet. Coconut.

This surprised to the upside! If you like vanilla integrated with oak and a creamy texture, this is perfect. Spanish all the way! Went lovely with our steaks.
