When Xmas day is temperate, go Canary: after a day of local Ramen & ice skating with the family, nothing like a a few glasses of crisp Canary white, all salty goodness & welcoming a plate of pear, apple, Alpine cheese, local salami piquant. Happy holidays.

White peach, lemon curd, bay leaves, fennel, anise, wet stone, and sea salt. 90% Listan Blanco (or Palomino), 10% Albillo Criollo for acidity. 20% aged in French oak for 2-3 months. Lightly fined, no filtration. High minerality and salinity on the palate. Moderate minus acidity. Medium body.

Not a long finish, but it sure is good while it lasts. Spice and fruit combine for a delicious afternoon "I'll drink the entire bottle right now" refreshment.

Great value for 16$ at Chambers street. Reminds me of an excellent Greco, but probably a touch shorter on the finish.

Like a lot of Spanish whites, it’s razor sharp with pronounced minerality and acidity. Green apple, wet stone, lime peel. You’d think being from a warmer climate it would be riper and more lush, but that is certainly not the case here.
