Dark ruby. I smell over ripe black cherry, band-aid, cheap mint chocolate and a touch of clove.
First impression on the palate is a delightful surprise- a lot of dessicated black fruits, clove, sour red fruits.
An interesting finish with a melange of rounded acid akin to a fruited vinegar, popping red fruits and tannins.

$15 retail. Great deal if you wanted a Rioja but only have $20 in your pocket!

2015 vintage. Still good but peaked in April of 2020 and has less bright red fruit. Would have ranked 90 then.
