Leans modern but resolutely Rioja. Cleaner fruit and with better honed tannins than most at this tier.

Excellent wine. Very smooth, not too fruity, and well balanced.

2006 still a solid wine. Dark berries, cedar, vanilla, balsamic notes. Well balanced with plenty of structure left to go a few more years. Very nice wine.

Imported by WJ Deutsch. 90% Tempranillo, 10% Mazuelo and Graciano. Not the most exciting producer from the region, but one I appreciate for being neither fanatically old-school nor modernista, just a steady source of drinkable, "correct" Rioja.

Rich juicy blackberry, ground pepper and a hint of mushroom. Perfect with paprika-rubbed filet mignon.
