Bodegas Nieto Senetiner
Mendoza Malbec
Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina

Deep Ruby, purple hues, aged in French oak, with aromas of ripe dark fruits and floral spice, sourced 50% from Valle de Uco and 50% from Luján de Cuyo, 20% aged in oak for 8 months. On the palate flavors of fresh blackberry and black currants with notes of licorice and tobacco, slight zing. Medium+ finish, fine tannins, crisp acidity, ending dry with fruit and slight earthy notes. Nice value!

Mar 26th, 2024For true red wine lovers only. Extremely full bodied taste is perceived the moment you open the bottle and release the aroma. Wonderful with a Manchego or other sharp cheese.

Nov 20th, 2014Had a ruby red color with visible legs on the side of the glass. Smelled like cherry and dark fruits. Tasted bitter with notes of blackberry, cherry. Also had soft tannins and a vegetal note.

Apr 24th, 2026Three cheers for Malbec. I haven’t had a lot of wines from Argentina, and this was a pleasant surprise. Big dark fruit forward. Had some oakiness that translated as vanilla spice. More fruit forward than my onslaught of european wines, and it was overall approachable. Felt like an easy drinking red wine as I didn’t find it super complex, but I have no complaints.

I’m not normally a fan of reds but I really enjoyed this one. It had a rich deep red color. Middle body ( in between light and bold). Notes of plum, red fruit, raspberry, blackberry. The tannins are soft. There is a vegetal note that will probably go away in a year since it’s such a young wine.
