Bodegas Nekeas
El Chaparral de Vega Sindoa Navarra Old Vines Grenache
2011. Having last night’s leftover meatballs with penne tonight, so I went back to the 2011 Garnacha shelf in the cellar (now empty) because it paired so well. This wine is richer in body and flavors with smoother tannins than last night’s. We loved it.

This is a nice surprise. A great Garnacha from Navarra, Spain. Interesting, with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food, like BBQ Meats.
This is very yummy.
These 100% Garnacha grapes are from 60 year old vines. Aged for 9 months in French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Feb 15th, 2023Really liked it. None of the overly vanilla/oak characteristics of a big granache and very well balanced.
