Barón de Barbón Vendimia Seleccionada Rioja Tempranillo

Smooth Rioja with a nice mix of spicy tannins. A quintessential Tempranillo that goes with just about everything.

Had the 2022 in November of 2024. Was an okay Rioja. Not a lot of body. Not a lot of fruit. Not a lot of oak. Was okay. Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. WSJ wine and have another bottle to drink. Found it to be a nothing special kind of a Rioja.

Very dry, with lots of earthy flavor. Not much fruit, but full and pretty long, but a little light in body. From the WSJ Wines Advent Calendar.

Really quaffable!

Subtle fruity flavours. Beautiful on the palette. Rich without being overbearing.

Very smooth with a hint of oak, solid wine but not something which had any ‘wow’ factor.

Aroma: Enticing aromas of fresh red berries, lifted by spicy coconut notes. Taste: Luscious, juicy mouthfuls of ripe strawberry and toasty oak, with a satisfying, velvety finish. Paired my glass with a collagen rich, homemade chicken tortilla soup, topped with Mexican crema, queso fresco, and avocado. ¡Muy bueno!
