Altos de Luzón Author Jumilla Monastrell Blend

10 years and still holding.
This 2011 has been one of my favorites from this winery over the years. And alas the last bottle.
Blackberry yoghurt, a distinct smell.
Fig, berry, cedar, light, yet still sturdy tannin.
Yum.

Very deep enticing warm purple color. Bouquet of powerful fruit aromas, berries and plums with vanilla and mineral notes floating up. Smooth and easy taste with ample fruit, nice tannins and oak/mineral finish.

At Curate in Asheville

Casa mono with coco - leather, violets, some oak, dry, fuller bodied, spice. Berries and plums. $20 pour. Montrasell = Mourvèdre. Particularly great pear with the lamb belly

Beautiful bouquet. Round ripe fruit. A touch of jam on the middle palate. Lacking some depth past there but really enjoyable.

I rated the 2011 vintage as 9.5. The 2015 was a good effort but not as great as the 2011.

Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo - lots of oak and smoke, but not much fruit. It opened a little in the glass, but not much

Earthy, leather, silky and everything sexy...ole

Earthy, mushroom, slight berry on the nose. Smooth up front and fabulous after taste. Would highly recommend. Curate in Asheville!
