Outstanding! Amazing quality for the price. Balanced notes of oak, vanilla and raspberry with a touch of menthol. Very mineral. Glad to have a few bottles in reserve!

All the red fruit and herbs without any of the funk or a huge whack of American oak. Clean, modern, tasty. Nice value.

Warm, almost hot oaky nose. Balanced acidity and tannins. After some time, a note of iron on the palate that I've never tasted before. Enjoyable but I miss the spice, cedar, savory leather that I've tasted in other Rioja. Only fruit was stewed plum. Day 2 with less assertive food: Same enticing nose. Palate is subtle and smooth, with mild acidity, mild tannins. Stewed plum is almost tomato now. Finishes again with metallic, almost bloody copper or iron sensation. Strange.

The colors in the glass are dense ruby-plum-purple. The nose is fragrant and enticing: with hints of black cherries, plums, lavender, and cocoa. The nose remains soft and delicate. On the palate the wines flavors are bold and spicy, filled with dark berries, and chocolate. The wine is smooth, medium bodied, nice and juicy. "Begins with aromas of black cherries, spice, lavender, and a little tobacco. When the bottle is first opened there are bursts of vanilla. The flavors are smooth and savory with lots of rich red berry fruit, all beautifully tinged with spice. As the wine gets some air, out come the nuances of cola and licorice. It ends with a very smooth lingering finish - with good length, medium body, and smoothness."
