Finally, some old school Rioja to taste. Vibrant cherry nose with hint of funk around the edges, on the palate very cherry with good structure. Classic Rioja with the oak toned down. Delicious.

Pretty darn skippy: inky w/only very slight bricking, plush deep rich reservoir of cherry & spices plum, mocha & vanilla w/earthy soily intertwined. Smooth suave mild caressing tannins, OK acidity, could have been a bit more juicy. This is New World Rioja, very approachable & enjoyable.

Color of shades of purple with grapefruit note and touch of ruby. Nose of cherry and oak, spice, vanilla, ice wine lie sweetness, a bit tobacco leaves, and strength of alcohol. Nose is plenty. Taste of nice oaky flavors, solid acidity like balsamic vinegar, good tannins, subtle sweetness in the background, black pepper, ripe cherry and strawberry. Powerful yet not aggressive. Also shows a bit mineral at the end. Aftertaste of some juicy grapes, peppery, quite long. Only tiny bit of metallic rusty note at the very end. But overall, a very good Rioja.
