Drank 8/10/18

Part of a lineup of 10 european wines my wife arranged for a birthday tasting with a number of friends.

Nose almost all tertiary scents of tar, coffee, tobacco, some almost hoppy notes (think IPA), which, strangely enough are not unpleasant. Palate is completely different with sweet plums and blackberry. Finishes with drying tannins and black fruits

3/22/7/3/3 +50 =88 pts.

Dark ruby, with long legs. Richer than expected bouquet. Warm and complex first taste that has a long but surprisingly dry finish. I poured straight from the bottle but next time, I would let it breathe for 30-60 minutes. (Tasted really good just poured from the bottle.)
