Malbec isn’t a usually grape I reach for in a bottle, but I’ve always been interested to try the legendary Zapatas from Catena. Picked this up from LB for $60. Forgot to decant this thing so I double Venturi’d it. Inky dense purple of a wine, blue fruit, good acid and gripping tannin- jesus this thing has a lot of years ahead of it for a 7yr old wine. Whipping up some compound butter for fatty steaks to wash this down. Will def revisit this.

Purple black color. Black (candied) cherries jump out of the glass almost overwhelming you.
Very smooth drinking with tannins and acidity to keep the excitement!
Decant at least an hour!
