El Enemigo Cabernet Franc

Tasty. On the old world side of things.

First night at the Villa. Light cab franc. Good pairing with wagyu and puréed potatoes. Dark fruits but light and fresh cab franc. No bell pepper.

Quite nice with Pat’s pork chops and potatoes ($26). The nose has notes of cassis, currants, and spices. Cabernet Franc is a house specialty and is impressive.

Quite nice with boeuf en daube

What a great burger wine! The grippy tannins worked for the fat in the burgers, and the fruit and racy acidity stood up to all the toppings. Bonus: this wine was the bomb with the brownies we had for dessert.

Deep, velvety ruby color. Smells of dried plum and tobacco. Taste is bright and almost sweet, like pure dark chocolate, followed by nutmeg and mild black pepper. Round, creamy tannins.

Delicious Cabernet Franc ($26) with Pat’s spaghetti. Dark fruit, full bodied, appropriate acidity, great finish.
