I'm really rather enjoying this little number. The distinctive part for me is the drying, gravelly tannin structure, which suggests I'll enjoy it a lot more in several years. For now it's still good drinking, with black and blue fruits on the palate with some savoury notes, all fronted by an attractive nose with dried floral hints on top of subtle mint and dark berries.

This is the diet that Victorians must have! Pyrenees (not French Pyrenees) cabernet is a very individual animal here; meaty, dried herbs, tobacco, eucalypt, herbage, earth, no red or black fruits; rounded but slight taut tannins on finish; oak hidden, 13.5%, named after an old colleague who was so generous in helping a young Brisbane boy become a master of wine; Colin Richardson 2012; #victoria #pyrenees #cabernet #bluepyrenees

And now the 2017; very smooth, velvet. Soft fruit, light on tannins. Very nice drinking now.

Delectable, you might consider consolidating the three or more listings of this wine with slightly different labels. Very annoying having to pick between them. Been a while since I tasted this and was enjoyed over family dinner, not paying detailed attention to it. But definitely enjoyable and has softened since the last encounter, tannins integrated and medium bodied luscious fruit the driving force. Rather lovely.

Seemed a little thin to begin with, but after some breathing time this really opened up. Savoury tail on this one.
