I've had this bottle from Blind Corner in the cellar for awhile and I've been looking forward to giving it a whirl. The 'field blend' is made of dry grown Shiraz with a touch of Viognier in it. In the vineyard there's actually 1 row of Viognier growing in the middle of the Shiraz vines which is picked and distributed into the Shiraz picking bins. Grapes are then crushed by foot.
On the eye it's a deep lilac red, however it was quite dark when we tried it, so it was a bit hard to tell. The nose smells of fresh morning air with dark berries, plums and floral notes. The palate is beautifully smooth and creamy with an abundance of blueberry and plum flavours topped off with subtle spice. Mellow tannins and a lovely plush finish. Thoroughly enjoyable.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Don't forget, wine is subjective #TCWeekdayWine
