2014, Black Sheep Finds, Holus Bolus, Franc De Pied, Sts. Rita Hills, Syrah. Blackberries, olives, red meat and spice on the nose. Ripe blackberries, black cherries, lavender, black pepper and spice, dark chocolate on the finish. Really well balanced: good acidity, moderate alcohol (14ABV) and just a little tannic on the finish. Going to pair it with the skirt steak that is on the green egg. Very old world style except for the ripe berries. Sort of St. Joseph like.

I love this #syrah from #sbcountywines and #staritahills region. Totally agree that it's more northern #rhone in style. It comes from a hilltop vineyard at 1200 feet that receives the cool winds from the #pacificocean and you can feel it. Spice and complexity on the nose. Refreshing.
