Trying out some Canadian fare while in Banff. Can’t say much about this glass, unfortunately. It’s a cab that drinks like a lighter blend. Pale crimson hues lead to a weak nose of cherries and cassis. Some vanilla. A touch of spice. Rather bland profile and soft dull tannins with a little leather and more cherry. It’s a nothing wine. Drinks nothing like a cab.

Simply one of the best Cabernet Sauvignons from the Okanagan, perfect balance, big full rich mouth feel with lasting smooth legs from a noteworthy 2016 vintage. 14.5% alc/vol. Cheers 🍷🇨🇦

A young Cab from the northernmost tip of the Sonoran desert. Plums, liquorice and spice. Still too tight but nothing a little decanting can't correct.

Pleasant Cab-Sav from the Okanagan. Decanting advised. Some aging potential - but not a lot! This is meant to be had young I think.

Dark fruit and plenty of tannins, that ease up with a little air. Concentrated and tasty.
