A very nice Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from the great 2014 vintage.

Showing black plums, sweet cherries, coffee, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates and tobacco.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Good by itself or with food and a great sipping wine.

This 6 year old is drinking very nicely now. Tasty and delicious.

A blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Absolutely one of my favorites! So lucky to have had the pleasure of tasting this wine. Such a lovely dark inky color and the nose is fantastic! Such a complex blend of berries. Trying to age the 2012 and anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 2012 Cru.

Tasting with the #winehousela team @blackcordon @napavinters . A young wine with lots of potential to age. After a few hours in the decanter, delicious.

This stuff is showing so well right now! Incredible nose of black pepper, anise, lavender, and cedar. Chewy, elegant and absolutely gorgeous, packed full of smoked black plum, blackberries, dark chocolate, gravel, and a Bordeaux like finish. Paired with Wagyu Beef, sauteed tarragon yellow Oyster Mushrooms, and roasted carrots and striped beets - studying to be a better cook under Gordon Ramsey. Cheers!

This is the best one yet. Still 4 AVA, MT Veeder, Howell Mt, Coombsville, and Stags. Dark, full of dried herb and violet nuances, and a griping rich full body, over performing the last two vintages by a long shot. This one has some great years ahead of it.

Big wine. That classic Napa cab, rich, deep purple in color, and huge on the tannins. Cassis, Vanilla, clove, pepper, tobacco, and delish

Now this is classic, in your face style of Paul Hobbs!! Compared to the 2011 vintage of this Cabernet, which was soft, smooth, and more like the showcase of the Howell Mountain fruit mixed in, the 2012 vintage was big, brooding, and intense, more like the showcases of that Stag's Leap valley floor grapes making that classic, "Iron fist in a velvet glove" style we've come to love, yet this wine is much, much more than that! First off, the nose was just marvelous. I could have stopped there at the clove, cedar box, and rose petal aromas speeding out of the bowl, quickly following with sweet tobacco, smoke and wet forest floor. The pallet was just as amazing with dark black currants and creme-de-casis, vanilla, oak spices, choco powder, and winding up to a gripping end. Medium plus in body, and worth every sip. This Cabernet Sauvignon is definitely unique in my book. Can't wait to dive into the new vintage of 16 x 20 that he also makes!

Amazing quality wine, by Paul Hobbs! Leather and anise on the nose, which was also very floral and aromatic from afar. Dense black currant and black berries, creme-de-casi, tobacco, tea, earthy notes, and toasted vanilla on the pallet, ending in a lingering mocha finish. Absolutely top notch example of Napa Valley. While still young, decanters beautifully, so I'd say hold or drink for this one. One of the few best bottles under $100.

Stewed cherries, blueberries, blackberry jam, soft tannins. This 2010 needs a little longer but is still gorgeously round.

The black currant, plum and creamy blackcherry that was there from the start is now being joined by secondary nuances in the nose; like dried tangy black cherry, dried blueberry and cedar bark. There is also a nicely integrated, round, spicy floral component that envelopes the fruit. The feel is round and supple; kept lively by beautiful acidity and sweet tannin balance. A lovely mouthful of black cherry tinged black currant elixir carries effortlessly into a very long expansive finish dominated by creamy cassis. Drinking beautifully right now, especially with a couple hours or more of decanting. Just starting to show its expansive volume with plenty of years left, but it’s hard to resist right now…so I didn't!
