Big Table Farm
Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir
This is a very nice Pinot Noir from Oregon.
Showing red fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco and coffee.
Medium bodied and Fruit forward with medium acidity.
Easy drinking, good by itself and good right out of the bottle.
This time I gave it a light chill, and had it all by itself by the pool.
Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
Unfiltered and unfined. A small production of only 239 cases.
13.8% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$62.

Very strawberry. Rhubarb. Orange juice. Great tannin management. I am not such a big fan of strawberry driven pinots. It’s a good wine but I will step away from big table farm. Eric Asimov from the NYT is a fan. This seems to be their house style. A great wine for sure but for me just too much strawberry compote. Turns plummy after 1 hour open to air.
